The reporter learned from the Provincial Department of Commerce that from January to October, the province’s imports of mechanical and electrical products were US$340.397 million, and there were six companies with imports exceeding US$100 million, including four Hefei companies, which were Hitachi’s excavator imports of US$740 million. Victoria LDK Solar High-tech (Hefei) Co., Ltd. has US$130 million, Hefei Rongan Power Machinery Co., Ltd. has US$120 million, and Hefei BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. has US$110 million.

According to analysis by the Provincial Department of Commerce, the main reason for the steady growth of mechanical and electrical product imports in the province is that the strategic emerging industries in the province have developed rapidly; secondly, the development speed of Hefei and Wuhu is also an important reason for the stable growth of imports. Solar new high-tech (Hefei) Co., Ltd., BOE Optoelectronics and a number of new enterprises have become the main force for the import of electromechanical equipment in our province.
