As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering flexible purchasing options that match value with actual usage and outcomes, we’re excited to introduce **Flex**. This groundbreaking solution combines the advantages of a named user model with the adaptability of a pay-as-you-go structure. Flex is now available starting September 24*.

Watch this Engineering.com interview with Jeff Kinder about Flex

We are one of the first in the industry to offer a consumption-based model, which complements our traditional subscriptions and benefits businesses of all sizes. For existing customers, Flex helps ensure they get the most out of Autodesk products, while also giving them the chance to explore new tools they haven’t used before. For new users, Flex offers an affordable entry point without requiring a long-term subscription.

Meeting Customers Where They Are

"We can't predict what a design team will need at the start of the year. It all depends on the projects that come up, so flexibility is essential to meet those needs without committing to a large budget upfront." – Donogh McGrath, Director of Information Security & Vendor Management

Our goal is to help customers achieve their best results by offering solutions that fit their specific needs. We’ve long envisioned a flexible, pay-as-you-go model for the broader market, inspired by the success of our enterprise offerings. The shift to a named user model has given us valuable insights into usage patterns, showing that some users don’t require daily access to subscriptions. That’s where Flex comes in. It fills a gap in our product lineup, offering a standalone option or working alongside subscriptions. It also makes it easier for new customers to try our products at a lower cost, especially if their usage is occasional or introductory.

Benefits of Flex & How It Works

Flex is designed to be simple and intuitive, similar to other pay-as-you-go models. Users can manage their access as much or as little as needed—setting individual controls for each user or using default settings for a more hands-off approach. Just like with a single-user subscription, Flex provides detailed insights into user activity and software usage. Flex allows customers to:
  1. Try new products with ease
  2. Save costs through a per-use pricing model
  3. Boost productivity by reducing procurement time and administrative tasks

Steps for using Flex.

What’s Next?

At Autodesk, we're dedicated to introducing innovative solutions that serve customers of all sizes. We believe Flex will become a valuable choice for many. We're eager to see how both new and existing users leverage Flex to design and build a better future.

PIV Laser

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) achieved significant development compared with traditional flowing display technology by using a transient, multi-point, non-contact hydrodynamic speed method. PIV overcome the single point measurement limitations of traditional means for that PIV can record a great deal of velocity distribution of different space at the same transient state, also provide customers affluent spatial structure and flowing characteristics about the flow field. PIV can be widely used in the wind tunnel flow field measurements, turbulent flow field measurements, particle flow studies, environmental studies, biomedical research and other fields.
