The Country Club Hills Fire Department was called to a fire this afternoon at 4440 W. 183rd Street, just two buildings west of their Station #1. The blaze broke out on the western side of a single-family home. Fortunately, no one was inside at the time. The incident prompted a coordinated response, with mutual aid arriving from nearby departments including Homewood, Oak Forest, Midlothian, Markham, and Hazel Crest.
Dennis McGuire, Jr., a local photographer, arrived after the fire had been fully extinguished and captured several images from the scene. His photos provide a rare look at the aftermath of the incident.
One image shows Country Club Hills Engine 1120, a Spartan Crimson pumper, positioned in front of the affected house. The truck was actively involved in the firefighting efforts. Another photo captures Country Club Hills Truck 1145, which was staged across the street but not deployed during the operation.
Oak Forest Engine 963 was also on scene as part of the mutual aid response, helping to support the local department during the emergency. Meanwhile, firefighters from Country Club Hills were seen repacking the pre-connects onto Engine 1120 following the fire's suppression, a routine but essential task after such an event.
These images offer a glimpse into the quick response and teamwork that characterized the department’s handling of the incident. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the community remains grateful for the swift action taken by first responders.
