It’s been more than a year since the global outbreak of COVID-19, and in that time, the world has experienced a dramatic shift in how we live, work, and connect. At Autodesk, we’ve navigated this unprecedented period with resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to our people, customers, and communities. Throughout this journey, we’ve remained focused on supporting those who rely on us. We’ve accelerated our digital transformation, offered flexible solutions for our customers, enabled remote learning, and made meaningful contributions to communities in need. We’ve also redesigned our workspaces to be safer, healthier, and more inspiring for our employees—showing that even in uncertain times, innovation and care can go hand in hand. While the pandemic is far from over, we’re encouraged by the progress being made through vaccination efforts and the growing hope for a collective recovery. As society moves forward, it’s clear that the future will look different—especially when it comes to how and where we work. That’s why we’re reimagining the workplace with a model built on flexibility, choice, and well-being. This mindset led us to create Autodesk’s new Flexible Workplace initiative—a model designed to empower our employees while supporting the evolving needs of our business. The goal is simple: to help people thrive, no matter where they are. Under the Flexible Workplace model, employees will fall into one of three categories: - **Office-Based** employees will work primarily from an Autodesk office, with the option to work remotely up to 20% of the time. Some roles, like receptionists or security staff, will require daily presence at the office. - **Hybrid** employees will divide their time between home and a local Autodesk office, with access to shared workspaces as needed. This is the most common model and reflects the majority of our global team. - **Home-Based** employees will work mostly from home, typically because they don’t live within a reasonable distance of any Autodesk location. We’ll implement this model globally, one office at a time, taking into account local regulations, health metrics, and vaccination rates. While many offices in Asia Pacific have already reopened, we plan to follow a similar path in the U.S. and other regions this summer. Each return will be phased carefully to ensure a safe and smooth transition. Beyond the logistics, our main promise remains the same: to create an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic environment for all. We believe that flexibility isn’t just about where you work—it’s about how you feel while you do it. By embracing this new model, we’re not only adapting to change, but also shaping a future that values both productivity and well-being. The pandemic has shown us the power of collaboration, resilience, and adaptability. As we move forward, we’re confident that this people-centered approach will continue to drive innovation, foster connection, and enable everyone to find balance while helping our customers achieve what once seemed impossible.
