I recently came across an interesting sight while driving through Berwyn. As I passed by Widaman Sign Co., I noticed a classic mid-90s E-One pumper sitting in their side parking lot. Out of curiosity, I decided to take a closer look and discovered that this vehicle appeared to be under some form of refurbishment there. However, I wasn't entirely sure whether the restoration work had been completed or not.
What caught my attention most was the branding on the apparatus—it was labeled "Brownell and Sons Motorsports," but there were no other fire department insignias visible. This raised quite a few questions for me. I'm not sure if this vehicle still belongs to a fire department or if it has transitioned into another role entirely.
I thought this might be something worth investigating further, especially since there are so many knowledgeable contributors within the Chicago Area Fire community. Perhaps someone out there can shed light on the history of this E-One and its current status. If anyone knows which department—or even individual—this rig now serves, I’d love to hear about it. Any information would help complete the puzzle!
Attached are several photos I took during my visit. The images capture different angles of the vehicle, showing both its exterior design and some details of the ongoing work. Hopefully, these visuals will provide additional context for anyone trying to piece together its story.

If you have any insights or connections to the firefighting community that might help identify this rig, please feel free to share your thoughts. It's always fascinating to learn more about how these iconic vehicles evolve over time.
