I remember the day clearly when Accelerate turned five years old—it felt like just yesterday when it started as a small gathering. This year, we're doing something special to mark the occasion by hosting the event in a new city and venue, with some fascinating new topics. Autodesk’s annual product development conference is set to take place over two days on September 19th and 20th, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as generative design and 3D printing. These innovations are reshaping the landscape of design and manufacturing throughout the entire product development lifecycle. We've organized three distinct tracks for the conference—Design, Make, and Manage—to explore how manufacturers can drive innovation at every stage of their processes. The Design track will delve into how products can be created with more efficiency and creativity, while the Make track will showcase advancements in production methods. The Manage track will discuss strategies for optimizing workflows and resource allocation. This year, Accelerate has relocated to Toronto, which happens to house Autodesk’s new office in the MaRS Discovery District, the world's largest innovation hub. Established in 2000, MaRS began as a nonprofit organization aimed at fostering publicly funded medical research. Over the years, it has evolved into a thriving ecosystem of educators, researchers, scientists, and entrepreneurs working across various sectors. In late 2017, Autodesk joined MaRS, bringing along a state-of-the-art generatively designed office space and technology center. Conference attendees will have the unique opportunity to tour this facility. One of the highlights of the event will feature some of our most inspiring customers sharing their experiences with Autodesk tools. On the first day, we'll hear from Denise Schindler, a German para-cyclist whose journey demonstrates the profound impact of new design and fabrication technologies. Denise’s story is one of resilience and innovation; after losing her lower right leg in an accident, she embraced competitive cycling, collaborating with Autodesk to enhance her prosthetic limbs. Using 3D scanning and additive manufacturing, she now has a prosthesis that is not only more comfortable and better performing but also significantly cheaper and faster to produce. On the second day, we’ll kick things off with Steelcase, a company revolutionizing the future of workspace design. Stephen Goetzinger, a senior application engineer at Steelcase, will explain how tools like generative design and virtual reality are helping his team better understand customer needs and create more effective solutions. Generative design continues to make headlines, particularly among innovative companies like General Motors and Stanley Black & Decker. Soon, this powerful tool will become even more accessible to all Fusion 360 users. Starting October 7th, we’re expanding Fusion 360 to include all capabilities, including advanced simulation and CAM features, giving users access to the latest manufacturing technologies. Roboy, an impressive humanoid robot built by a team from the Technical University of Munich, is another example of what generative design can achieve. Rafael Hostettler, the project leader, will share insights on how the team enhanced Roboy’s construction and performance using generative design and Fusion 360. Finally, we’ll hear from customers like Aclara, RAMLAB, and Hosokawa, who are leveraging Autodesk’s cloud-based manufacturing tools to transform their production processes. Whether it’s through faster prototyping, hybrid manufacturing techniques, or improved collaboration and data management, these companies are leading the charge in modern manufacturing. As I reflect on the evolution of Accelerate over the past five years, it’s clear that the conference has grown alongside the industry, becoming a vital platform for innovation and collaboration. I’m excited to see where the next five years will take us!
