Overview: A magnetic separator is a device used to separate materials based on their magnetic properties. It can be categorized into dry and wet types. This equipment is widely utilized in the mining industry due to its simple structure, ease of operation, and maintenance. Magnetic separators are commonly applied for removing iron particles and are also used in resource recovery, timber, mining, ceramics, chemicals, and food industries. They are suitable for wet magnetic separation of magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, and ilmenite with particle sizes below 3 mm, as well as for iron removal from coal, non-metallic minerals, and building materials. Structure: The magnetic separator consists of components such as a drum, roller, brush roller, magnetic system, tank, and transmission parts. The cylinder is fabricated by rolling 2-3 mm stainless steel plates, and the end cover is made of aluminum casting connected with stainless steel screws. The motor regulates speed through a reducer, driving the cylinder and magnetic roll to rotate. The magnetic system is open, installed inside the cylinder, and fully exposed. Magnetic blocks are secured to the yoke plate using stainless steel bolts, and the yoke shaft extends out of the cylinder. The end shaft is fixed with a turning arm, allowing adjustment of the magnetic system angle. The trough area is constructed from stainless steel, while the frame and other body parts are welded with ordinary steel. Application: Drum magnetic separators are ideal for separating materials with different magnetic properties. They operate under both magnetic and mechanical forces. Benefits include a short magnetic circuit, minimal magnetic flux leakage, high magnetic intensity, low energy consumption, fine beneficiation results, and a simple structure that is easy to maintain.
