Updated with more photos at 11:45 PM Oak Lawn firefighters responded to a 2-11 alarm late this afternoon for a fire at a strip mall on 95th Street. Hank Sajovic was on the scene within minutes and captured some incredible images showing the early stages of the blaze. The photos reveal firefighters working in the rear of Eva’s Bridal Shop, where the fire was first discovered, and then the rapid spread of heavy smoke and flames toward the front of the building, engulfing the neighboring Radio Shack. Hank Sajovic photo The fire was contained after a long and intense effort by multiple departments, including Chicago Ridge and Roberts Park FDs. It appears the fire spread quickly from the bridal shop to the adjacent retail stores, causing significant damage. Residents in the area were advised to keep windows closed and avoid the area due to heavy smoke. No injuries have been reported so far, but the investigation is ongoing.
