This message comes from Martin Nowak, who shared some awesome old photos of the Calumet City Fire Department with us. Big thanks to Squad546 and L. Groszewski for letting me use these incredible images. They really take me back to another era!
First up, we’ve got two photos of the former Engine 305 from 1969. The first one is the Mack truck before it was refurbished, and the second shows the same truck later on when it was upgraded by Specialty. Then there’s a Kenworth/E-One combo, which might be from 1985—definitely a beast of a machine.
The next set of photos comes courtesy of L. Groszewski. First, there’s an image of the old Snorkel 1 taken in 1977. It looks like it could still handle anything thrown its way! There’s also a shot of Engine 305 from the same year, looking sharp as ever. Last but not least, we’ve got an old ambulance from 1977. I can almost hear the sirens blaring in the background.
And here are the photos themselves. The first few are Squad546 shots, and the last three are from L. Groszewski. Enjoy checking them out—they’re truly nostalgic pieces of history!
