A few days ago, German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz received a conversion contract to modify the steering gear control system for two luxury cruise ships leased by Noble Caledonia.
The two cruise ships, called "Island Sky" and "Hebridean Sky", will be modified by Anschütz's NautoSteer system, which, in addition to the control, will also integrate the existing autonomous steering system. The modification work is expected to be completed this year.
It is reported that Raytheon Anschütz has obtained a contract through its Norwegian distributor Syberg AS, which will sell the system to the ship's service provider Triton Marine Services of Norway.
