Hey everyone, Just got some info from Andy about a new truck that LDV built for the Naperville Fire Department in Illinois. Apparently, it’s already been delivered, but it’s not in service yet. Here’s what caught my eye from their post: The City of Naperville recently got this custom-built specialty vehicle, and LDV did an impressive job with it. They used a Freightliner M2 106 conventional cab chassis paired with a fully customized aluminum body. One standout feature is the automatic rear liftgate that opens and closes at the touch of a button. The body itself has integrated emergency and scene lighting, which is super practical. To help with parking maneuvers, there’s a three-camera rearview system. For communication, they pre-wired the vehicle for radios and even created a custom center console to hold all the electronics. Storage-wise, it’s got six roll-up exterior compartments with heavy-duty slide-out trays for gear. There’s also a vertical compartment for storing shoring struts and tubing. And if you need access to the upper shelves, there are six pull-out platforms to make life easier.
