Recently, Aleris issued an official statement saying that the company has signed a definitive agreement with Japan’s Sanlian Lishan to sell the company’s aluminum extrusion business to the latter. The transaction includes four factories in Europe and one factory in China. The capacity of the above plants includes medium-hard alloy extrusion products, mainly for the railway, automotive and aerospace industries. Sanxie Lishan will pay 35.5 million euros for the transaction and will assume a pension debt of approximately 46 million euros. The two sides expect the transaction to be completed in the first quarter of next year. In October of this year, Aleris announced that it plans to sell its aluminum recycling and specialty alloy production business to Signature Group Holdings. After the completion of the two transactions, Aleris will shift its focus to rolling products and in North America, Europe and China. All have factories.
